On top of the filming schedules, the group often performed at high-profile pop music festivals such as Party in the Park where they performed for , fans.
In spite of this, the group always remained in solidarity that they were all good friends, "cared for each other a lot" and supported each other through difficult times in the group.
The series saw the group depart from Miami and move to Los Angeles to seek a record deal. It introduced the song " Reach ", another retro-styled uptempo track, which was co-written by Cathy Dennis and aired as the main theme tune to the second series.
It reached number three in September S Club 7 took an active part in promoting several charities during their time as a band. As well as performing for Children in Need , the band launched, on 25 September , a new television series called S Club 7 Go Wild!
Teaming up with the World Wildlife Fund , each member travelled to different destinations worldwide with a hope to raise awareness about the seven endangered creatures, including the Siberian tiger and the hyacinth macaw.
After topping the UK charts in December , the song was added to a re-release of the 7 album, along with another new track, a cover of Stevie Wonder 's "Lately".
The song was released in April , marked a high point for the group as the single went straight to number-one, went Platinum and became the seventh best selling single of However, after the song went in at number-one, he felt as though he was "supported by the fans" and his fears were alleviated.
By spring , the group were "desperate" to start touring; it was something which they had always wanted to do, but couldn't because things were "always so hectic".
Describing the tour, Stevens remarked that seeing a crowd of over 13, fans each night coming to see them was "such an unbelievable feeling", and the other members of the group shared an "adrenaline rush" as well as a wave of emotion before going on stage.
This third series, which was still set in Los Angeles, was the group's favourite to film because they had more acting experience and could "drop their shoulders" and start to enjoy themselves.
The new group were to be chosen to sing with S Club 7 on Children in Need and go on tour with them on their future S Club 7 Carnival tour.
It was decided that " Have You Ever ", a song co-written by Chris Braide and Cathy Dennis , was to be released for the charity campaign.
After the success of the previous year's single, the performance on the night featured many primary school children who had pre-recorded their own versions of the chorus, including the S Club Juniors who they made their first television appearance.
In January , S Club 7 embarked upon their second arena tour, S Club 7 Carnival , which aimed to please fans by stylising their songs to fit with a carnival -like theme with music styles from different countries of the world.
Talking about his former musical venture three months before he left S Club 7, Paul Cattermole described his school nu metal band — called Skua — as having a " Limp Bizkit vibe" as well as comparing their style to Rage Against the Machine.
Skua released their first album in October titled Kneel. After Cattermole's departure, vowing to not disband, the remaining six members stayed together under the name S Club.
Despite losing a member of the group, the future remained positive as, although they were very sad to see Cattermole leave the group, they were "delighted" to have extended their contracts meaning they could look forward to new material, a new series of their television show as well as their first feature film.
Although their progressive musical style was once again furthered with the release of their fourth studio album, Seeing Double , it failed to make an impact on the UK charts, stalling at number-seventeen.
In April , S Club released their first feature film, Seeing Double , directed by music-video director Nigel Dick , which was to be the last time the group would be seen on-screen together.
Unlike its television predecessors, the film moved into the realm of children's fantasy , and saw the group fighting evil scientist Victor Gaghan in his quest to clone the world's pop stars.
The film's release was marked by many rumours that the group were about to split, which were quickly denied by the six.
The band cited a mutual split, expressing it was simply a time "to move on and face new challenges". The single reached number-two in the UK, beaten to the top spot by R.
Kelly 's " Ignition Remix ". This compilation brought together the group's releases with a previously unreleased track, "Everybody Get Pumped" and 7 track "Bring the House Down".
The album reached number-two in the United Kingdom. In August , it was reported that the band would be reforming under the backing of Simon Fuller.
The style of music S Club 7 normally falls under is pop, or more specifically bubblegum pop. Their first two singles saw vocals shared equally amongst the seven members of the group, and it was not until their third single, " Two in a Million " that O'Meara became known as their lead vocalist.
Although the band were to progressively change their style over the four years they were together, even their first album had many tracks atypical of the pop genre: " You're My Number One " and "Everybody Wants Ya" were Motown -driven whereas "Viva La Fiesta" and "It's A Feel Good Thing", were both "bouncy, salsa-driven Latino songs".
Over the years, their style and direction changed progressively with each new album. Their second album 7 had songs that had styles far removed from the traditional pop songs rival pop bands of the nineties were releasing.
The album marked a more mature approach for the band. With the departure of Cattermole, S Club released their fourth and final album, Seeing Double , which contained many songs with styles not yet explored by the group.
The group released " Alive " which was a "power-packed dance floor filler", a style that matched that of their final single " Love Ain't Gonna Wait for You ".
The album also contained many other dance tracks and songs far removed from their original bubblegum pop stylings, such as the "sex for the CBBC generation" in "Hey Kitty Kitty".

Archived from the original on 13 October Retrieved 4 September Archived from the original on 17 October Retrieved 13 October Archived from the original on 8 April Archived from the original on 21 June Retrieved 25 August The movie takes us from the tortured remains of one victim to the next as the sociopathic "John Doe" Kevin Spacey sermonizes to Detectives Somerset and Mills -- one sin at a time.
The sin of Gluttony comes first and the murderer's terrible capacity is graphically demonstrated in the dark and subdued tones characteristic of film noir.
The seasoned and cultured but jaded Somerset researches the Seven Deadly Sins in an effort to understand the killer's modus operandi while the bright but green and impulsive Detective Mills Pitt scoffs at his efforts to get inside the mind of a killer The movie, "Se7en", starring Brad Pitt, Morgan Freeman, and Gwyneth Paltrow, is by far one of the most inventive, well-written, and cerebral films in recent history.
Se7en is uniquely on its own for suspense dramas as it both fuels the need of the audience to be drawn in and entertained by the events unfolding, and remain uncompromising and shocking, thus satisfying the initial vision of the director, David Fincher.
The story surrounds the hunt for a serial killer, who, inspired by Dante Alighieri's seven deadly sins from "The Divine Comedy", sets out to, "preach" about man's impurity, and does so by targeting victims, then torturing them by pitting their own underlining sins against them.
Se7en seemingly starts out as a typical cat and mouse detective story, however, it quickly develops into of a sort of modern-myth, with good and evil taking centre stage.
The story is original on all counts, and thrilling on all levels. The most important aspect of Se7en, however, is that it keeps the audience numerous steps behind its story, as oppose to other thrillers, which become predictable and bland by the end.
By keeping the audience in the dark, the film remains fresh and original as it progresses. Se7en even dramatically turns the tide at one point, just as the audience is finally getting comfortable and asserted into the gloomy atmosphere, thus creating as much as fear and uncertainty in the audience as it is with the characters involved.
By the film's conclusion, the audience is as much apart of the film as the characters themselves, and arrive at Se7en's surprise ending without a single clue of it, prior to it occurring.
Se7en's poetic ending which will not be given away says a lot for the people behind the movie, showing they are not afraid of going against the grain.
A rarity with films so nowadays. Directed brilliantly by David Fincher, and skillfully written by Andrew Kevin Walker, Se7en is well crafted and ingeniously clever, making it one of the greatest films of the 90's.
While Se7en may not have garnered critical acclaim as such films as Silence of the Lambs, Se7en is, undoubtedly, as influential as any film to date.

Alternate Versions USA laserdisc edition adds a few scenes deleted from theatrical release as a bonus at the end of the program, including: a prologue where Somerset Morgan Freeman is going to buy a country house.
He uses his switchblade seen many times in the final cut, but not explained to cut out a small piece of wallpaper.
He tells her about the house and shows her the wallpaper. She tells him that it wouldn't be such a good idea to show it to David, saying "He wouldn't understand.
Within minutes, a delivery van approaches. Mills holds Doe at gunpoint while Somerset intercepts the driver, who has been instructed to bring a box to them.
Doe begins to taunt Mills by telling him how envious he was of his life with Tracy. Somerset opens the box and, in a sudden panic, warns Mills to stay back.
Doe then says that his sin was envy , and that Tracy died as a result of this; he also states that her head is in the box, which is confirmed by Somerset's silence, and that she was pregnant.
Despite Somerset's warnings, Mills fatally shoots Doe, completing Doe's plan by representing wrath. Somerset and the police captain watch while the devastated Mills is taken away.
Somerset offers his help for Mills. When the captain asks where he'll be, Somerset simply says, "Around. The primary influence for the film's screenplay came from Andrew Kevin Walker 's time spent in New York City while trying to make it as a screenwriter.
Somerset Maugham. Jeremiah S. Chechik was attached to direct at one point. Denzel Washington and Sylvester Stallone decided to turn down the role of Mills.
Washington later regretted turning down the role. Christina Applegate turned down the role of Tracey. The ending of the screenplay, with the head in the box, was originally part of an earlier draft that New Line had rejected, instead opting for an ending that involved more traditional elements of a detective thriller film with more action-oriented elements.
But when New Line sent David Fincher the screenplay to review for his interest in the project, they accidentally sent him the original screenplay with the head-in-the-box ending.
At the time, Fincher had not read a script for a year and a half since the frustrating experience of making Alien 3 ; he said, "I thought I'd rather die of colon cancer than do another movie".
It's psychologically violent. It implies so much, not about why you did but how you did it". When New Line realized that they had sent Fincher the wrong draft, the President of Production, Michael De Luca , met with Fincher and noted that there was internal pressure to retain the revised version; De Luca stated that if Fincher promised to produce the movie, they would be able to stay with the head-in-a-box ending.
The film was shot over a long period of 55 days. Fincher approached making Seven like a "tiny genre movie , the kind of movie Friedkin might have made after The Exorcist.
The crowded urban streets filled with noisy denizens and an oppressive rain that seems to fall without respite were integral parts of the film, as Fincher wanted to show a city that was "dirty, violent, polluted, often depressing.
Visually and stylistically, that's how we wanted to portray this world. Everything needed to be as authentic and raw as possible. The restaurant ironically is located in Hollywood, California.
To this end, Fincher turned to production designer Arthur Max to create a dismal world that often eerily mirrors its inhabitants.
The 'head in a box' ending continued to worry the studio after filming was completed. After the first cut of the film was shown to the studio, they attempted to mitigate the bleakness of the ending by replacing Mills' wife's head with that of a dog, or by not having Mills fire on John Doe.
However, both Fincher and Pitt continued to fight for the original ending. Originally, Fincher planned the title sequence of the film to show Freeman's character buying a house in a remote country area and traveling back into the city.
However, days before a test screening , they had yet to film the sequence and had no budget to do it in that time. Fincher approached Kyle Cooper to suggest a replacement.
Cooper recognized the amount of money used to make John Doe's notebooks created by Clive Piercy and John Sabel , and used the sequence to display them in a slideshow set to a remix of Nine Inch Nails ' " Closer ".
The hand-drawn credits font was used to suggest that Doe had written the credits himself. The studio liked the sequence and suggested he stay with that.
Fincher instead asked Cooper to "pretend we've never met and come back and propose something else", according to Cooper.
Figure out a way for it to involve John Doe, to show that somewhere across town somebody is working on some really evil shit.
I don't want it to be just flipping through pages, as beautiful as they are. Cooper was assisted by film editor Angus Wall and cinematographer Harris Savides in making the final title sequence.
The site's critics' consensus reads: "A brutal, relentlessly grimy shocker with taut performances, slick gore effects, and a haunting finale.
Gary Arnold, in The Washington Times , praised the cast: "The film's ace in the hole is the personal appeal generated by Mr. Freeman as the mature, cerebral cop and Mr.
Pitt as the young, headstrong cop. Not that the contrast is inspired or believable in itself. What gets to you is the prowess of the co-stars as they fill out sketchy character profiles.
